A Small Percent

Imagine being child again. What were you doing? Playing with blocks? Repeating crudely pronounced words again and again, giggling at it's sound? Eat. Sleep. Not much going through your happy little mind.

But somewhere out there are children cowering with fear all over the world. Some die young, some push through, some find a better place but some, the smallest percent they break. They lose feeling. Not of their arm or leg but inside where everything should matter, and yet, nothing does. When all you know at such a young age is pain, your morals and ethics become… twisted.

Evil, good, light, darkness, happy, sad, nothing is different from each other and to those small percentage of children this makes perfect sense.

When these tortured souls see the real world. How things actually are, they begin to wonder why it was just them. Feeling comes back as insanity. Almost all of this small percentage can't handle the weight and to an even smaller percentage drives them to do something absolutely final.

Blacking their souls. Marking their consciousness forever.

Blood dripped from the blade clutched in small hands of one particular child. The blank-eyed brunette fit this small percentage perfectly. He broke 6 years ago when he was 4. The face of the child showed no discomfort at the blood. The small child merely knelt beside his uncle for but a moment to wipe the bloody knife on his uncle's coat. The dark haired boy carefully stepped over his aunt. A whimper made the 10 year old pause. He turned slightly to look at his loved cousin, the spoilt pig's face was scrunched up in terror, eyes unable to leave his motionless, parents.

The child put a blood stained finger to his lips.

"Shhhhhh."

His spoilt cousin was silenced immediately. The child continued out the back door, not once looking back. A cruel replica of a smile danced on his lips, completely devoid of all emotion.

Harry Potter was never seen again in Privet Drive.
