True Power Endures

Born to a miller, having never seen royalty,

Humiliated by one of them,

She swore revenge.

Along the way, she found true love,

Only to have her heart broken.

She couldn't take it, oh the pain;

She fell deep, he stepped back.

Drastic measures were taken;

She ripped out her own heart.

No more love; love is weakness.

Raised her daughter with a iron grip,

Who loved away anyway.

A man below her status, a stable boy?

No, she would be royalty.

To be married to the King,

She'd be his Queen.

Drastic measures yet again.

She crushed the stable boy's fragile heart.

Love is weakness.

Pushed into the Looking Glass by her spawn,

She made the most of it.

Queen of Hearts, in Wonderland she ruled.

Until that one day, a pirate was sent;

To fetch her heart.

A pirate, oh it was laughable,

What an idiot her daughter turned out to be.

Only, she didn't keep her heart in her chest anymore;

A tiny flaw in her wonderful daughter's plan.

She wouldn't die, not so soon anyway.

Power was the only truth,

She hunted for it.

Being The Dark One would be perfect.

She set out to make that desire come true;

Her faithful daughter by her side.

We're almost there, we can do it.

Tricked by Snow White, her heart was cursed;

It was back in her chest,

Love is weakness.

She truly loved her daughter,

"You would have been enough."

Were her final words as she died;

In her daughter's arms,

Not heartless anymore, but a loving woman,

One who wanted the best for her daughter.

Love was weakness,

Only true power endured;

The Miller's daughter had proved.

"Love is weakness."

Said the Queen of Hearts.

"But true power, true power endures."

Said Cora Mills.

"You would've been enough."

Said a mother to her daughter.
