A New Kind Of Warrior

This is a story about my character Squid, a young Pegasus finding out who she really is. What she was meant to do with her life. She encounters a good amount of ups and downs during her journey. But she won't be alone, there are ponies like her, somewhere out there.

Squid's hoofs splashed the surface of the water. Disgust, disgust was all she felt when she looked at her own reflection. Different, that was all she felt she was compared to the others. Why was she not born the same? The Grey pony gave soft groan in irritation.

"What is the matter young one?" Asked an older yellow pony with a black mane and a crystal for a cutie mark.

"You know exactly what is the problem" she said her words full of spite.

The elder sighed and sat next to her, the reflection still disturbed in the water.

"Squid I don't see why you have to make such a big deal about this you are not that different." he said trying to comfort her.

She only laughed turning her head to him, "What are you talking about looking at me."

"Squid, do you have four legs?"

Yes.."

"Do you breath the air that we do"

"Yes."

"Do you eat what little grass grows here at the peak of the Crystal mountains? "

"Yes Bu-" She said before getting cut off by him.

"See, you're not that different after all.."

She only scoffed at him and raised her voice as she said. "So do cows, sheep, and pigs."

"Well you're not a cow, sheep, or pig are you?"

"No. I'm a pony."

The elder nodded standing up and starting his way of the trail that would lead down the mountain.

"But it isn't fair! Listen to me" she said running after him, getting in front of him and looking at him sadly. "Why are my eyes different fro everypony! Why is my Selera dark Grey, why do I have a cyan irises, why don't I have pupils!? What does my cutie mark mean! Why do my wings glow when I fly!? Why! WHY!?"

"Squid calm down" the stallion said motioning his hoof to rub away the now forming tears in her eyes.

"... Take the train to Hollow Shades." He said sullenly.

"What?"

"That's the only thing I know trust me. "

Squid's face brightened a smile coming across her face.

"Papah..." she said trying to hold back the tears.

"Go on! Get! "he said pushing her away with her head. "Don't ever say I did nothin' for you"

Squid nodded giving him a quick hug before she ran off down the trail to the base of the mountain.
