Seto slipped on the black Gucci loafers and allowed the guard to escort him to the limo where his step-father was waiting. He slid into the back seat, greeting the man sitting across from him, apologizing for taking so long. He sat mute the rest of the ride to the fundraising dinner. Once they arrived, he would shadow Gozaburo, wraith-like, the very picture of a dutiful son, until the man tired of his presence and dismissed him to sit with the other abandoned children whose busy parents had also brought them to be shown like trophies.
His fairy tale childhood.
