Title: A promise he won't keep

Summary: The first talk between Cameron and John after first episode season 2.

Cameron came out of the bath when she hear a noise in the church. Cover herself with the towel she wait in silence at the door.

She enter the room in silence, looking at the boy who saved her before that day. That confuse her. He wasn't suppose to save her, she was the one who saves him, never the other way arround.

"You should be resting." She said siting next to him. One stare at his hair, made it clear what he was doing in the showers before.

"I know." He didn't look at her, he keep staring at the image of Jesus.

"Promise" She said, cutting the silence

"Promise what?" He asked looking at her for the first time. He let his eyes travel over her body. The shock she register in his expression only for one second then it became blank again.

"Promise you won't do that again. If I ever became a treat to your safety you have to kill me, you can't bring me back."

"Cameron, you saved my life before, why can't I save yours? I was the one who made you, I..."

"You weren't the one who made me. Skynet made me. No matter what you do, I am program to kill you. All the cyborgs in the future are. Future you override that program... He made me, he programed me to protect you, but I am a cyborg. You can't... " She stop. She was going to say he couldn't forget that... but she liked it. The way he treated her it made her remember the future John, her only friend, but she wasn't suppose to think about him. "Just promise."

"I won't, Cameron. I need you." He look in her eyes, trying to make her undertand.

"If you won't, I'll do it myself"

"What?"

"I'll burn myself. I was about to kill you, John."

"But you didn't. That's what matters."

"It was luck. I can't let it happened again. Just promisedme and we won't say one more word." He turn his head to the door.

"I promise."

She know he didn't meant it. She know that he was lying and that he would do everything again... she knew this because future John had told her that he had to make promises he couldn't keep for the sake of those he loved.

Love. She asked herself if she could love, if she could feel anything at all. She cared about John, but he was her mission, only that.

She touch his hand, making him look at her.

"I am going to do you a sandwich. Derek says that if stomach is full mind will be to." She went to the kitchen, when she was at the door she looked over her shoulder.

There it was. Her salvation. Her destruction. She knew that if her mission was accomplished she would never exist.

Because after Skynet is over, John will have to terminate her. He said so before she came from the future.

She remember him every time she looked at present John. But they weren't the same. But today, the look in his eyes were the same.

And Cameron knew what it meant. He loved her, and he hated her at the same time.

Cameron finished the sandwich and took a glace of milk. She went back to the church and deliver them to John.

He looked up and started to eat. After he finished, he got up and looked at her.

"I won't keep that promise. And you won't do anything about him. If it's my life in risk is me who's going to choose if your suppose to life or not."

He left without looking back.

And she knew that he was stronger now, he was prepare now, he was half dead inside now. Readdy to do the job.
