Euphemia li Britannia thought that all her dreams were coming true. She had one of the best knights in the military, the Elevens would finally have a place to be what they truly were: Japanese. Her innocent dream soon faded into a crimson nightmare when she said the following words:
"I, Euphemia li Britannia, bid you all within the sound of my voice to heed the following command: Seek out any Japanese you can find and please kill them. Leave not a single one of them alive."
The once pure dream of the gentle princess turned into a tainted nightmare that led to a bloody massacre at the hands of the massacre princess. The nightmare ended when Zero took the massacre princess' life. However, it wasn't Zero who killed the massacre princess entirely; She died by her love that she had for her knight: Suzaku Kururugi.
"I don't care what it takes... I won't let her die like this. Save her!" Suzaku ordered. He had already lost his father, he wouldn't lose Euphemia too.
"Suzaku..." Euphemia murmured as she opened her lavender eyes. "You're Japanese... right?"
Suzaku didn't know it but Euphemia was fighting her own battle for the will to live. The order was to kill all the Japanese... but Euphemia couldn't kill Suzaku.
"N-No... I can't... Suzaku..."
You were ordered to kill all of the Japanese. You can't defy the order. Kill him.
"Suzaku!" Euphemia screamed.
Suzaku... you were my knight and I... I loved you dearly. However... my orders... my order... is to kill you and all the Japanese... I... I can't... Suzaku...
Suzaku held Euphemia's hand and stared into her eyes. Euphie... please. I can't lose you too... he thought as he desperately held on.
Kill him. The order is to kill all of the Japanese. It's the right thing to do.
It's my order... but I can't!
Euphemia's hand was being held tight by Suzaku. His emerald eyes shone with determination and sadness as well as fear.
Suzaku... you are kind, strong and brave. I... I fell in love with you. Britannian or Japanese... I never thought of it as that way. All I saw was Suzaku and Euphie... the way I wanted to see it.
The confliction in Euphemia's heart made the monitor react. Suzaku watched with worried eyes. He moved to get up but Euphemia held on to him tightly.
"Suzaku..." "Just hold on Euphie. I won't let you die like this. Just hold on..."
Those kind words... Suzaku... I want to be with you... I am nothing without you... but I...
KILL HIM.
No! I refuse... Suzaku... I can't kill you... Suzaku... I just want to...
Beeeeeeeep!
Suzaku... I will treasure these memories forever... goodbye... Suzaku...
"...I love you..." Euphemia murmured as her lavender eyes slowly shut.
"Euphie? Euphie!" Suzaku cried. His reason for existence was now gone.
Suzaku... even if I can't be with you... I will always love you.
With Euphemia now gone, Suzaku was now distraught. He took out Euphemia's crest and held it in his hand.
"Euphie... as your knight... I swear this to you. Zero will pay. I will avenge your death."
With vengeance as his guide, Suzaku went off to carry off his vow. It was his love for her and his atonement for killing her. He killed her and didn't realize it but as long as his heart was beating he made a promise to Euphie that she will be avenged.
AN: I hope I didn't make them too OOC. I had this idea watching Euphie's death and thought that it wasn't entirely Lelouch's fault for killing her and this oneshot was born. Constructive criticism is appreciated and this is my first oneshot of this fandom. I hope you enjoyed.
