I Owe My Heart To You
Steve felt like he owed Claudia so much. She's always been there, with her spunky attitude, causing him laughter and a happiness he hadn't really felt since his sister had passed. And then, on top of that, she'd brought him back, but brought him back with a heavy consequence. That she would hold any pain he felt. She would suffer as well. And if he died, then even though he'd come back, she just wouldn't. And the thought of not hearing her voice, of not seeing her smile, crippled him.
He needed to tell her. And he needed to get off the metronome. Not that he was sure how he was going to do that and well, remain alive, but he would manage, he had to. He had to save her, because he couldn't imagine a world without her. What she'd called him, her BFFE, was as true for him as it was for her. And losing her would truly and utterly destroy him.
