"My mother thinks that I shouldn't marry you. Because of the age-difference", she said to Anthony.
"Please don't listen to her", he said. "Age is just a number. The important thing is that we love each other and belong together." And he looked into her deep blue eyes and kissed her passionately, longing for the day she would be truly his.
So they were married.
Ten years later she looked into his deep blue eyes while she told him that she had felt their baby kicking in her belly for the very first time.
She had had several early miscarriages before then, so they had almost given up hope of ever becoming parents. She was not young any longer.
She was so happy during her pregnancy. So was he.

"My mother thinks that I shouldn't marry you. Because of the age-difference", she said to Anthony.

The first sight of his wife with their little girl in her arms was the most beautiful sight he had ever seen.

Maud had been a widow when they were married and ten years older than him. Edith was a young woman in her twenties, a little more than twenty years younger than him. Both his marriages had been very happy. The second one was happier than ever now.
Age was truly just a number.
