The end of a dream.

As I sit here watching the events play around me it still hasn't skin in what happened less than a week ago. When you were found breathing your last breath, that look in your eyes knowing this was it.

The dream of us retiring together is broken, I know we had that talk about what we would've done if something like this was to happen but never thought it would happen.

Watching the coffin that was holding your body lowering into the ground, knowing that it was just your body your soul has now gone home in heaven waiting for your next adventure in life.

Looking up at the heavens above I close my eyes whispering a prey that you will watch over my family, opening my eyes looking around seeing the grounds empty. Remembering the flower in my hand I let it fall onto the coffin. "Until we meet again, I will keep the promise we made and will stay with the force and become captain"

Walking away from your final resting place, I will find the one who took you away from me from this world even if it takes years.

Getting into my car I take one last look and wipe the tears in my eyes.

"Rest in peace partner, you were more than my partner you were my brother, I will keep those memories alive the good and bad times."smiling "those jokes we played on the captain, it will be my luck I will get a couple of cops who are just like us with all the jokes"

Starting up the car.

"Goodbye Elmo Jackson, thanks for always having my back, just wish I had yours that night"
