I do not own anything from RENT besides the DVD.

Thanks to Fanzel who convinced me to write some Mojo!

Maureen and Joanne had been dating about 6 months now, and living together for 4 months. Joanne had decided it was time for Maureen to meet her parents.

"Maureen." Joanne addresses her on the car ride to her parents' house.

"Yeah, Pookie?"

"Have you ever heard of a song called 'Für Elise'?"

"No, and god bless you, Joanne."

"I didn't sneeze. Get this. It's German, and means for Elise. It's a piano composition by Beethoven, and it's a really depressing song. He wrote it about a girl he love, named Theresa, who didn't love him back. The name was messed up in translation. So the beginning is musical crying, the middle is happy, then sad crying, then anger and finally crying again. It's beautiful. You should hear it."

And with that, Joanne put in her Beethoven CD. She put on Für Elise, and played it through.

"Well, Honeybear, what do you think?"

"It was pretty, but I don't understand where it sounds sad and stuff. And where's the exciting protest music?"

"It's classical music, Honeybear; it isn't made to be exciting. This next one is one of my favorites! It's called "Moonlight Sonata"!"

As the moonlight sonata finished, Joanne pulled up to her parents' house. Or rather, her parents mansion.

"Jo, you grew up here?"

"I thought you knew my parents were well off…I was always a privileged child."

When they knocked on the door, Mrs. Jefferson welcomed them inside, but asked them to remove their shoes. She said dinner would be ready in an hour and told Joanne to show Maureen around.

Joanne showed Maureen around, and when they got to her childhood bedroom, Maureen couldn't help but laugh. It was so typical Joanne. Spotless, bed made perfectly, her books on her shelf in alphabetical order.

The last room Joanne showed her had a grand piano. Joanne seated herself at it and said "Maureen, this is why I talked to you about that song, listen."

And Joanne began playing Beethoven's Für Elise. When she was done she played Moonlight Sonata. She finished playing, and grabbed Maureen's hand, and pulled her to sit on the bench next to her.

"Jo, why didn't you tell me you play piano?"

"It never really came up in conversation. I told you I was a privileged child, and most children from rich families grow up playing piano. Perhaps I thought you had made the assumption. I mean, you knew my parents were lawyers, and I attended a private boarding school, and Harvard. I don't know."

Joanne put her arm around Maureen's waist and played a few more notes, before leaning in to kiss her. Maureen being Maureen, took things a little further, and turned it into a make out session. She pulled Joanne to her feet, and pushed her up against the piano. Joanne jumped up onto the piano and laid back pulling Maureen on top of her. Joanne then rolled them over so she was dominating. Finally the two pulled back for air, and Joanne cuddled up to Maureen and they lay there a minute. Maureen strokes Joanne's ringlets, and says "My Beethoven."
