A/N: This for sure is going to STAY a one-shot, thank you very much. So don't nag. Also, review and all that jazz.
Raven had overslept. It was a winter morning, and the sky was too gray and blank to let any light shine through. Normally, she woke up at seven every morning.
But she'd slept in until nine, and was hurriedly dressing when someone knocked on her door.
"Yes?" She called out as she pulled on a pair of jeans and a black tank top.
"Cy, Starfire, and Beast Boy have gone into the city," Robin said.
Raven opened the door, tucking a stray piece of hair behind her ear. "OK," she replied, looking up at a very shocked Robin. "Why did they go into the city?"
Robin shrugged. "Shopping, I guess. Star was giggling with Beast Boy as she left though, so I think they're up to something."
Raven shook her head. "Why were you so surprised when I came out the door?" She asked, keeping her voice flat. But there was the smallest hint of a smile playing around her lips.
"Uh…" his eyes looked everywhere but at her. "I guess, 'cause you're normally just I your cloak…."
Now she really was smiling and Robin blushed a little. "We should watch out for booby traps. You know, how you said Beast Boy and Star were planning something?" Robin nodded.
"We saved you breakfast," he said, finally regaining his composure. She nodded, going back to her silent self.
They headed straight for the kitchen, and Raven helped herself to the leftover eggs. Robin sat down on the couch to play video games. Raven finished her breakfast, and curled up in an armchair with a book.
They spent the remainder of the morning that way, and neither said a word.
"When do you think they'll be back?" Robin asked, finally.
"I don't know. Bored?"
"Yeah actually. No offense…"
"None taken. I'll be back in a second," she put her book down in the arm of the chair, and walked up the stairs. Robin's gaze trailed after her, and he mentally slapped himself.
And then he followed her. He didn't mean to, really. His excuse was that he needed something from his room, and he'd only just realized….He stopped short when he bumped into Raven.
"Hello," she said, holding another book in her hand.
"Hi. I just found their trap," he replied, looking up.
Raven looked up. There was a small sprig of mistletoe right above them. He smirked down at her.
She looked up at him, shaking her head. "You don't think I'm going to-No. Not going to happen."
"Am I that repulsive?"
"No, it's just-. Mistletoe is a stupid tradition."
"Yet, you haven't moved away yet."
"So?"
"Where's your Christmas spirit?"
"I think I left it in my room," she replied sarcastically, and started to walk away. Robin caught her arm.
"Come on, what's one kiss going to do?"
"I don't want to take part in a stupid tradition."
"So, if it wasn't a stupid tradition, you'd kiss me?"
"That's not what I said-" she began, but was cut off by Robin's kiss. Her book fell to the floor. Soon, though, she was kissing him back. His arms snaked around her waist, and she wrapped her arms around his neck.
They didn't move apart when they heard the door opening. They did move apart, however, when they heard Beast Boy's giggle.
"I think they found it….."
A/N: OK, I really like the idea of poor people stuck under mistletoe. I have a really great idea (in my humble opinion) for a Starfire/Robin mistletoe fic. Review if you want it. Actually, review anyways.
