"Let's go on a date."

It was a totally casual passing remark, mentioned like how one would mention the weather. Hibari narrowed his eyes. "Huh?"

"I said, let's go on a date," Dino said, a slight smirk playing on his face.

There was silence for a while, as Hibari tried to process his words. "if you want to eat fruits, go buy some yourself, stupid herbivore," he said with a sneer on his face.

Dino stared at Hibari, dumbfounded, before letting out a small chuckle. "No, not that sort of date."

"Then?"

"I meant..the sort of date where two people go out and...enjoy each others' company."

Hibari raised an eyebrow. "If you want to go out, go ask one of your subordinates then, dumb herbivore."

Dino sighed and pouted. "But I wanna go out with you."

"No."

"Please."

"No."

"Pretty please."

"One more word and I'll bite you to death."

"Aww, come on-"

A sharp thwack was heard as Hibari's tonfa came swinging, metal colliding with Dino's poor forehead. "OUCH!" Dino stumbled back, clutching his throbbing bruise. "What was that for?!"

"I warned you that I'd bite you to death."

Dino scowled, then sighed in resignation. Of course he knew that it wouldn't be so easy. He had already experienced first-hand this guy's infuriating stubbornness. During their battles-

Dino's eyes lit up. Battles!

Hibari was already walking away when Dino called out. "If you agree, I'll get Reborn to fight with you." Never mind that this was an impossible feat, he would cross that bridge when he came to it.

Hibari's step halted. "That infant?"

"Yep."

There was a pause as he weighed his options. "...Fine."

Dino fist pumped in his mind, his pain momentarily forgotten. Yes! He had done it!

"But I get to pick the location."

Ah. There was a catch.

Hibari turned around, an evil smirk on his face.

Which is how Dino ended up spending Saturday afternoon in the hospital being treated for mysterious scratches that looked like it came from some sort of wild animal. But that's a whole different story.
