"It would have been logical," Cameron said, yawning slightly, "for House to have hired you."
"I know!" Amber replied, her hand gently running through Cameron's golden hair.
"He only hired Thirteen because she's more interesting. She's damaged. Like him. Like...me!" Cameron continued.
"I know!"
Cameron rolled over to lie against Amber, her arm draped over Amber's pale, flat stomach.
"Are you upset? That he didn't pick you?" It was barely more than a whisper but it was enough to still Amber's hand.
"Not really." Cameron looked up at her. Amber smiled and went back to playing with Cameron's hair. "I kind of prepared myself for it. After all, since when did House start thinking logically?"
