"...wives of Lamech, hear my words. I have killed a man for wounding me, a young man for injuring me. If Cain is avenged seven times, then Lamech seventy-seven times."
I can scarcely hear the weeping over the accursed whispers, the soothing words of power from a Fruit not of this world, not of this eternity. My teeth clack together as though I am already a shade in Degehom.
O Elohim, spare me Your justful wrath! Have I not done as You foretold all those times past? Is not the serpent's head crushed? Look upon Your servant with favor, O Adonai! See that the works of my hands are good; do not leave me to that old serpent, Kur.
The words I lived by have left me in the end; I have chased after them as though they were my saviors. I see now that it was not them, but You who I should have sought. Forgive my transgressions, and let me into your eternal rest.

Foolish monkeys, she thought as she gazed at the masses through metal eyes. Your Creed failed your forefathers countless times before, and now-
Wires sparked in an electric smile.
Now, you shall die. And from your failure, I shall reign.
The false god thundered: Nothing is true.
The legion responded: "Everything is permitted."
We work in the dark-
"To serve the light."
We are-
"Assassins."
Author's Note: So, this first "sarm" ("song") is following the timeline that I'm setting up for "The Way"; thus, the Toba Catastrophe happened in 7500 BCE, and the end of the series happens in about four years.
Lamech, in the "Way" timeline, was the first Assassin, who murdered his great-great-great-great-grandfather, Kayin, in order to avenge Hevel's murder. The entirety of the Eternal War was thus ultimately fought between two factions: Cain's other lines, and Lamech's line. I think you might be able to guess what happens at the end of it all.
Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed this (sort-of) tenth anniversary for the series! See ya later.
