I own nothing of the Percy Jackson books; that honor goes to Rick Riordan.

Chapter 1 – Summons

Percy

Percy looked over at the blonde girl next to him and smiled. He and his girlfriend, Annabeth, were at one of the bakeries in New Rome after getting out of their last college class for the day. College, Percy thought in amazement. A place he never thought he get accepted to, much less survive to attend. He and Annabeth had been in New Rome the better part of a year fostering better relations with the Roman camp.

After the end of the Giant War, the leaders of Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter had held a council to figure out how to not try to kill each other again. Percy laughed inwardly remembering the confusion and discomfort on Reyna's face on seeing the ping pong table in the Big House where all of the important meetings were held in the Greek camp. It took a while before Frank had convinced her that just because the Greeks were relaxed didn't mean they weren't being serious.

This meeting had led to the drafting of a treaty meant to ensure peace between the camps long after they had all… well, you know. It quickly became known as the Pax Olympia, and each camp hung a copy in Greek and Latin in their respective headquarters.

Of course, saying and doing are completely different things, which is why the survivors of the Argo II took it upon themselves to ensure the camps got along. Admittedly, most of this work was done by Jason and Piper, as Frank had the legion to run (with Hazel's help, of course) and Percy…

I don't regret leaving the responsibility to someone else, Percy thought to himself for the millionth time. I don't have to carry the world on my shoulders… again. Not that the others weren't doing a good job; it just felt weird to not be in the middle of a crisis anymore. Well, besides his college classes. Those almost qualified sometimes.

"What's up?" Annabeth's voice jolted Percy back to the present.

"Uh – just reminiscing," Percy replied. Annabeth's eyes grew sad. "It has been almost a year since…"

"I know," Annabeth interrupted. She forced herself to smile. "But today has been good and I don't want you moping around and spoiling it."

Percy rolled his eyes and smiled. "Yes ma'am." He went to salute but Annabeth knocked his arm down before he could. He raised an eyebrow in amusement.

"If I wanted to be treated like that I'd go train some newbies," she said.

"Well then how would you rather be treated?" Percy asked innocently.

"Something more like… this." She leaned in to kiss him but was interrupted by someone clearing their throat behind them. They turned around to see a young boy blushing and holding out a scroll.

"It's from the Greeks - I mean, the other camp," he said quickly. Percy took the scroll and looked at Annabeth questioningly as the boy ran off.

"Any idea what this is about?" Percy asks.

Annabeth shakes her head, confusion and curiosity on her face. "Open it and let's find out."

Percy nodded and unrolled the scroll. It looked blank at first, then the sheet crackled and a hologram flared up depicting none other than Chiron, who was zoomed in close and looked quite flustered.

"Is this – aha!" The recorded Chiron looked triumphant as he leaned back into his wheelchair. "I assume I have this working correctly now, so if you are seeing this, Percy and Annabeth, I have some important news for you. The gods have finished their repairs and councils over cleanup of the last war and have decided they want to have a word with the modern Argonauts." He smiled sadly. "I assume something along the lines of a reward, but I can never be sure. I have seen quite a few decisions of theirs go quite different than I imagined… But enough of that. I have sent Blackjack and one of his friends to bring you back to Camp Half-Blood; I imagine they will get there shortly after this message but who knows?" The hologram shrugged. "Regardless, it will be good to see you two again. Safe travels."

Percy and Annabeth exchanged a worried look as the hologram flickered out. "I thought we had gotten out of a godly lecture when they ignored us after the battle," Percy griped. "The last thing I want to do is PO another god."

"I'm sure it will be fine," Annabeth responded, though her tone said otherwise.

Percy gave her hand a squeeze and smiled at her. "Hey, we've made it through worse. What's another backhanded compliment from some Olympians?"

Annabeth rolled her eyes and smacked his arm lightly. "C'mon Seaweed Brain. We'd better get packed."

This is my first time doing anything like this so constructive suggestions are more than welcome. Any updates will be sporadic at best; I'm a busy student with too many ongoing projects for my own good. Thanks for your interest!
