Info: Watched 2.12 last night for some Arthur/Gwen stuff but came up with this Merlin/Morgana fic instead. Set when Merlin poisons Morgana. Spoilers.

~Breathe~
He'd never felt so guilty in his life. Never felt so angry or so sad or so emotionless either. He knew he had to do it, if he didn't everything would turn for the worst. But killing Morgana was the hardest thing he'd ever had to do.
Merlin had watched her drink the water; she offered him a gracious smile before raising the bottle to her lips and then returning it to him. She continued ripping the cloth for Uther before frowning and coughing uncontrollably. Her gaze turned confused and then it was taken over by fear.
He had long since turned away from her, clumsily wiping away the tears that fell freely from his eyes as she drew in shaky breaths. Eventually he gave into temptation, turning towards her and reaching out to hold her.
She resisted his actions, pushing him away, her breaths even more shallow, tears cascading down her cheeks. He pulled her into his chest when she grew weak and gave up the fight. She almost appreciated his comfort and placed her hands on the arm that he had slung across her collarbone. The both of them remained in this position listening to Morgana's breaths all but disappear.
He'd never felt so guilty in his life.
