Standing On The Rooftops
A few days had passed after Duo admitted his deepest secret to Quatre.
Duo found himself on the rooftop at lunch time yet again. The slow creaking of the door made him tense.
"Go away Quatre."
"I am not Quatre, Duo."
The sound of Heero's voice made him freeze. Duo glanced back to see the Japanese teen standing by the door.
"What'cha need 'Ro?" Duo asked softly.
"I would like to know why you are avoiding me."
"I'm not avoiding you Heero."
"Then why haven't I seen you since the day in the training rooms? You stormed out and never came back."
Duo sighed. "Look 'Ro. I'm not avoiding you directly. Well maybe I am but-"
"Why? What have I done?"
Duo turned to face Heero. "I have a lotI need to think about Heero. Quatre made me realise something and it's got me confused. I need to think about it all." Violet eyes pleaded with Heero. "Okay, look 'Ro. It's nothing you did directly, it's something I've done. I-I need to figure it out." Duo's eyes softened when they fell on heero confused expression. "Don't worry 'Ro! I'll be back to my perky self in no time. For now though I just need to think about it." Duo shot Heero a grin.
The long haired ten turned his back to Heero. Violet eyes gazing out over the rooftops.
Heero didn't move. "It's kinda hard to think when someones staring at you 'Ro."
Heero gave a defeated sigh and left the rooftop.
Once the door was firmly closed Duo let the wind carry his whispered statement.
"I love you Heero."
A few more minutes passed before he sighed and pushed himself from he ledge. He made his way back down to their shared office, fake grin in place.
For now it would stay his secret. His deepest secret. He'd just have to stick with his friendship.
