... Hey guys. I'm writing this as a vent because last week my mom passed away and I have been very sad, but I have had A lot of support from my friends and family which is helping. Not sure when I'll get back to writing my other stories yet. I'm on a break, but I did need to write a vent because... I just needed to-
Everest jolted awake from yet another nightmare. How many was that this week now? Five? Six? Honestly, the huksy couldn't keep track anymore. Sighing, the husky walked out of her pup-house that sat in front of her new home that she had been living at for about a week now. Everest sat on the porch and just stared at the stars. Though the Husky had been given a new home, gotten an owner, friends, and heck even became a rescue dog, Everest still remembered her old life out in the snow and cold before she... Before she was alone for a while. It had always been her and her mother. Everest was told when she was old enough to understand that her father left them about a month after she had been born.
Everest and her mother did everything together. Hunting, playing in the snow, etc. And then... That wonderful adult Husky that Everest loved oh so much died.
The husky pup could still remember that painful day when she found her mom dead. It was awful. Everest cried by her side for hours, she begged her mother to come back. But... She didn't and Everest then remembered something that her mom did tell her. "When I go... I'll still always be with you. Watching over you and protecting you,"
So Everest took these words to heart and carried on. It was hard. But Everest managed. While the pup wasn't ready to share her past with Jake, the team or anyone else for that matter yet, the husky knew in time she'd open up.
As Everest glanced up at the sky once more, tears began to stream down her face. "I love you, Mom... I hope I'm making you proud, because I'm sure trying," The husky mumbled softly. With one last sigh, Everest got off of the porch and headed back to her pup-house, knowing her mother was right there with her.
