Tell Me What Your Best Friend Knows.
"Come on Evan's." James smiled, flashing his teeth in Lily's direction. She sat down on one of the comfy red chairs in the Gryffindor common room, trying to ignore him. Orange flames and red embers sparked in the fireplace, radiating their warmth around the room and its two current occupants.
"Piss off James." Lily mumbled, opening her potions book. James weaved around the common room till he was sitting on the table in front of her.
"Oh so we're on a first name basis now," He said, pushing her book shut so she had to look at him, "Lily." He cooed. She had to admit he was good looking with his dark hair falling over his forehead and ... oh what was she thinking Potter, James Potter, good looking. She shook her head trying to clear the notions from her head; she wouldn't give the boy who had dedicated the last five years of his life to publically embarrassing her, that satisfaction.
"Come on Evan's; tell me what your best friend knows." He flashed that signature James Potter smile of his at her. Lily could feel the heat in her cheeks, and tried her best to suppress her former thoughts. He loved the way she reacted to his smile; her cheeks flushing a light rose colour as she tried to avoid is stare. She brushed her fuchsia locks into a messy ponytail, deliberately hiding her face from James.
"I can always just assume you were confessing you undying love for me." He said, watching her cheeks turn a brighter shade of red.
"In your dreams Potter." She emphasized his name, as she curled her legs underneath her and reopened the leather potions book.
"What about yours." He whispered elaborately winking at her, not caring if she saw. Lily slammed the book shut again, causing the resounding bang to echo around the empty common room.
"I am not the slightest bit interested in you, now would you leave me alone to my study." She yelled at him quietly as to not cause any more noise.
"Touchy, Touchy, flower." He said using Sirius's nickname for her, revelling in the glare he received.
"You are an arrogant, self centred p..." her voice trailed off as he suddenly rocked forward his face mere inches from hers. Hazel eyes focused on her, he leant on the arms of the chair restricting her movement. She inched forward slightly, before her better sense kicked in and she fell back against the seat, her heart pounding. Red hair, almost the same colour as the chair framed her deep emerald eyes and lightly freckled nose.
"Lily, will you go out with me?" He whispered in her ear, leaning back slightly to look into her sparkling green eyes.
"No." She replied, the corners of her lips curving into a smirk, before James pressed his lips to hers quickly pulling away, after he realised what he'd done.
"Why don't you ask me again?" she breathed her eyes wide and locked on his.
