an: The title might be rather familiar. This poem is essentially "Autumn Reminiscence", but in poetry. XD When I wrote "Autumn Reminiscence", I couldn't help but think that the first line sounded much like the beginning of a poem. It continued to bother me until, finally, I went back and wrote this. Please read it and share your thoughts, good or bad. I appreciate criticism that will help me write better, because I know I'm far from a perfect author. =)
Autumn Reminiscence in Poetry
The autumn moon was large tonight,
As wide and round as your honest eyes.
There was a hazy, golden glow in the sky
And it brought me thoughts of a far off night.
I hate the fall - can I tell you why?
It haunts me with its clear, blue sky.
The leaves are gold; they start to die.
They taunt me with their lack of life.
But worst of all, the birds all fly
To seek their nests in warmer climes,
And though it's quiet, still I try
To hear you in Wind's whispering sigh.
