Authors note: My first fanfic! YaY! Oneshot. Kind of sad.

Cody started sprinting, tears streaming down his face. Where am I? How'd I get here? Where is Zack? Where is anybody? His thoughts echoed inside his head. His lungs were busting from lack of oxygen. He stopped running. He doubled over from a sudden pain he felt in his stomach. His insides were burning. The world he was in was boiling, yet he still felt stone cold. Lost. Helpless. He knelt. The pain was growing stronger. His heart was beating faster. He fell to his knees. The world was spinning.

"Zack, come here! Zack come on! Help me! HELP ME!" Cody screamed to the darkness. The blood was rushing to his head. He felt dizzy and sick. His stomach was knotting up. He felt stone cold. "Zack…" he whispered softly. The tears rolled down his cheeks, turning to ice as they hit the floor.

All of a sudden the darkness twisted and became distorted. A warm light shone. Cody saw the silhouette of his only brother. Cody gasped and tried to stop crying, but the tears just kept coming. Cody felt warmth rush throughout his body.

"Zack! You're back!" Cody said. He jumped up and ran to his twin. He was about to hug him but…

Zack's image flickered. In the blink of an eye, but it was enough to phase Cody. He was confused. Zack was frowning. And…crying. Cody wanted to hug him. Put an arm around him and tell him everything was alright. That he never gave up searching. That even though his only brother disappeared with no trace of his existence left behind, he was ok…

But Cody would only be lying. He felt cold again. The warmth his body had felt had disappeared. Disappointment and guilt flooded his heart. Cody had started crying again. Zack's image flickered again. Zack put his hand out. Cody reached out to touch it. It was freezing. Zack looked at his brother lovingly and said:

"I'm sorry."

Then a sudden wind came. Zack's image blew away like sand in a windstorm. Cody reached out to his brother, but only got the wind to touch him. He felt his tormented soul plunge into a series of emotions…guilt, disappointment, anger, sadness. They all enveloped him, and sent him plunging into the darkness.
