The Way of a Pirate

Skyrela Delgado is a young, nineteen-year-old Jedi Padawan who has just run away from the Jedi Temple. While hiding out in an abandoned ship on Floruum, she meets a very...peculiar person. One who shows her a life she never dreamed she would have.

Chapter One-Meeting

"Well, well, what do we have here?" The pirate leader exclaimed, excitement evident in his voice.

The pirate leader gazed down upon the small female cowered in the corner of the ship. He couldn't help but notice a pair of dual lightsabers on her hips. He briefly wondered why the girl didn't use them; however, one glance at her face revealed just how frightened the girl was.

"How old are you?" The pirate leader inquired.

"I'm nineteen. I suspect you must be Hondo." The girl retorted, fighting to keep her voice calm.

The pirate leader-Hondo-laughed. "Why, yes! The one and only Hondo Ohnaka!"

The girl scoffed. "Of course."

Hondo grinned. "And who might you be, feisty one?"

"My name is Skyrela. Skyrela Delgado." The female replied, her voice just as fiery as her attitude.

Hondo laughed, clapping his hands. "Oh, I love it when they're feisty!"

Skyrela slowly up, a harsh glare on her face as she crossed her arms. "You're not getting a thing from me so you might as well just leave."

Hondo laughed. "Tell me, Skyrela, are you a Jedi Knight or a Padawan?"
"I'm a Padawan." Skyrela answered slowly, taken aback by his question.
"Then where is your Master, hmm?" Hondo questioned. "Every Padawan has a Master, am I correct?"
"Well, yes, but-" Skyrela started.
"Then where is your Master?" Hondo interrupted.
Skyrela sighed. "I don't know."
"How do you not know?" Hondo interrogated.
"I ran away." Skyrela admitted.
"Why would you run away?" Hondo inquired. "You're a Jedi Padawan!"
"It's not all it's cracked up to be." Skyrela muttered, her tone bitter.
"How about you try being a pirate?" Hondo offered, seeing a golden opportunity.
Skyrela scoffed. "I don't know the first thing about being a pirate."
"Well, if you join my crew, you'll find out." Hondo declared.
Skyrela's eyes went wide as her breath caught in her throat.
"You're kidding." She breathed out.
Hondo shook his head. "Well, what do you say?"
Skyrela bit her lip, thinking it over. Taking a deep breath, she nodded her head. "I'll do it."

A/N: Hey guys. So this is just something that I spent about an hour trying to write. It's short yes, but I had many distractions and many, many rewrites. I know it's kind of horrible, but cut me some slack. It's nearly 1 AM. I'm hoping that as I continue this it will get better, but just bear with me. Until next time, ciao!
