Hi. SO. I haven't updated a story in forever. At the moment, I don't really feel like comedy. So have this one-shot.
There was no hope.
The Princess of what used to be Hyrule looked out the window at the ever-lasting twilight. Streets that used to be full of happy folk were bare. Not a soul. She sighed. No one would defeat him, surely.
There was no hope.
His laughter still echoed in her brain, and the clatter of her sword as it fell to the ground. The vision of her proud soldiers falling to the ground thanks to the shadow beasts still haunted her memory. If the finest knights in Hyrule couldn't defeat him, then surely there was no hope.
Zelda heard the sudden sound of footsteps and quickly turned around. The guard entered her room, asking questions. In reply, she only pulled her dark hood over her head further. The beast left the room slowly.
She returned to her window.
She heard footsteps again. Surely that couldn't be the guard again, he had just come. He wasn't due for another five minutes, and thirty-three seconds, to be precise. She turned, to be met with the sight of a small imp on a wolf.
She gasped. The wolf was not like any wolf she had ever seen before. It had the brightest blue eyes, that, for some unknown reason, she felt she recognized. She turned to the small black and green figure, and they spoke, but she couldn't stop looking at the beast's azure eyes. She trusted them. She told her story, the story that had been haunting her mind. The wolf nodded, as if he understood. Perhaps he did. She could definitely sense a human aroma. Even if he didn't understand, she was glad to get that story off her tongue.
They left the room to escape the guard.
She turned back to her window, and looked out at the pair she had just seen escaping to the distance. The wolf turned around for a moment, and his eyes caught the small amount of light. Her braids flew in the wind and she smiled ever so slightly.
Perhaps there was hope after all.
