Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters. A friend forced me to play with them.

"You know Steve's birthday is coming up," Kono informed Danny and Chin.

"How do you know that?" Danny questioned.

"I googled him."

"I don't think I want to know the results of that search," Williams commented.

Kono re-focused the conversation. "So let's give him a surprise party."

Chin nodded. "Why not? We can invite Kamekona and a few of his other friends. Danny, you can distract him for a while, and we'll get the party ready."

"Distract Steve?" Danny exclaimed. "The Super SEAL? What plane of reality do you live on?"

"Take him on a hike or something," Chin suggested. "Just long enough for us to get everything ready."

"So then I bring Steve to wherever we're having this party, he opens the door, and everyone shouts 'surprise!'"

"That's usually how surprise parties work, Danny," Kono agreed.

"Somehow surprising an armed man with lightning reflexes doesn't seem like a great idea to me."

Chin and Kono looked at each other. Chin nodded. "He has a point."

"Maybe a non-surprise party would be better," Kono decided.

Author's note: This story comes from my own past, when I was working a fairly dangerous job and my crew decided to give me a surprise birthday party. (How they got into my place I am still wondering). Anyway, I opened the door, hit the lights, everyone shouted "surprise," and I instinctively drew my sidearm and dove behind my footlocker, which was doubling as my coffee table. A couple of weeks ago I was watching H50 with a friend of mine who knows about the party incident and she said it sounded like something Steve would do. I laughed and agreed and thought that would be the end of it. But then I lost a bet with her and in payment of that debt, she made me write this little story and post it here. I hope you enjoy, but if you didn't, hey, it's short so it didn't waste too much of your time.

Have a great day, all!
