few feet away, but the boomerang guy has decided to trust him. For now.
"You know," Sokka starts, getting Zuko's attention, "I'm still not
sure if I can trust you." Zuko's scarred eye winces, the lackluster,
yellowed iris burning into the cliffside. He stares at the upside down
buildings, wondering how the air nomads made them.
"I gave up everything I had to help Aang with firebending," he
says, trying not to scream. "and you can't trust me?" Zuko wanted to
add a "You're pathetic" at the end, but he knew it wouldn't go over
well. "Everything? Like I care." Sokka snaps. He almost regrets being so
sharp.
"I left my girlfriend behind." Zuko says, his voice fading to
almost nothing.
"Because of you, my girlfriend turned into the moon!" Sokka
retorts, his hands on his hips.
"Yeah, well, my father scarred my face and banished me!" Zuko
snarls.
"Well, you know, my dad left me behind on a block of ice!" Sokka
yells. They're officially glaring at each other now.
"I once took on ten men and won!" Zuko yells. "I swear to god," he
thinks, "I'm gonna throttle him!"
"I fought a monkey-turtle-lion-boar, and it gave me this scar!"
Sokka cries, revealing a small scar running up his leg.
"I once ate fifteen pancakes in one sitting!" Zuko screams.
"I- I ate twenty-three waffles in one sitting!"
"Waffles aren't as big! I once burned down an entire village!"
"That was MY VILLAGE!!!" A moment of silence wafts by. Zuko tugs
at his clothes, muttering to himself.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaawkwaaaaaaaaaaard."
