The silent room seemed to cocoon them but he didn't mind. He wanted time to stand still. He never wanted this moment to end. He ran his hands down her cheek, marveling at her perfection. Her skin was like porcelain and her hair burned as brightly as her spirit. She was relaxed in sleep, looking more like the angel she had come from than ever. He wanted so badly to kiss her awake, to see her eyes darken in recognition and love but he resisted.

Clary had changed him, made him better. He reached one hand out and grabbed the bulge. He switched it to his other hand and leaned down kissing her awake. Neither of them knew how much time they had but he wanted to spend it with her. He wanted to be brave and face whatever happened together, he wanted to hold onto her as long as possible, but right now he wanted to ask her a question
