A/N: My first BTVS fic that I'm putting on FF.NET. I've written others just haven't posted them yet. It's just a short, little piece I wrote when I had like ten minutes left after finishing a midterm. Hope you like it. BTW it's a B/S. The only thing I'd ever write. Oh and Buffy reads a poem someone wrote. I suck at writing poetry so pretend there was a poem.
Turn Back Time
After pushing the stake into the vampire's heart, Buffy stood up. As she turned to leave a flash of light blinded her.
A small figure-not much bigger than Buffy-emerged from the light. It was dressed in all white and had a veil over it's face.
Buffy put up her fists to fight.
"Do not fear me." the figure said. "I am Joya. I was sent by the Powers That Be to show you someone's past."
"Why? And who's past?"
"The powers give no explanation. And you will soon see who's past."
Before Buffy could say anything else she was once again blinded by light.
"Where are we?" Buffy turned to Joya but no one was there. She looked around.
A young woman about her age was walking along the road. She wore an old fashioned dress, as if it were from the 1880's. A young man came running after her.
"Cecily. Cecily wait up."
The girl stopped and turned. "What do you want William?" she said apparently annoyed.
"I...I wrote you a poem." he held out a piece of paper.
"I don't want it. Your poems are bloody awful."
"Spike!" Buffy whispered. Stepping closer.
"Well at least let me walk you home. The streets are not safe at night, especially for a lady such as yourself."
"I shall be safer alone, than with you William."
"But Cecily..."
"Go away William."
"But Cecily I love you."
"I shall never love you William. You are beneath me!" With that said Cecily turned and walked away.
William let the poem slide from his fingers and drift to the floor. With his head down and tears in his eyes, he walked away.
"OMG" Buffy muttered to herself, thinking of the night she had said the same thing to Spike. "That's why he looked so upset."
Buffy walked over to the fallen piece of paper and picked it up. "His poem isn't so bad." She looked around. "Joya can I go home now? I need to see Spike."
There was another flash of light and Buffy was back at the cemetery.
She ran towards Spike's crypt. Not knocking, she ran inside. He was sitting on his couch watching TV.
Buffy sat next to him and hugged him. Shocked, he wrapped his arms around her.
"Something wrong luv?"
"I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"For saying you're beneath me. You're not."
"Oh. That. Um it's okay."
Buffy pulled the poem out of her pocket and handed it to Spike.
"Where? How did you get this?"
"You remember it then?"
"Of course but how did you get it?"
Buffy explained what happened.
"How much did you see?" Spike asked.
"The last thing was you walking away."
"Good."
"Why what happened after that?"
"Drusilla."
"Oh." Buffy said getting what he meant. "I'm sorry I said that Spike. I really am."
"I know luv."
Buffy leaned against him. "Whatcha watchin?"
"Dracula. Gonna stay and watch?"
"Yeah. I think I will." she wriggled against him trying to get comfortable. She pulled Spike's arms around her and sighed.
"Thank you Joya." she mumbled before she drifted off to sleep.
