We will on the dance like wild fire. Prologue- Shattered
Gary insulted him all the time, but today was different. Today he crossed the line. Ash felt no anger, but was lost in his trail of tears as he fled the battlefield. Gary watched the raven haired boy cry and scream as he ran; he felt a stab at his heart knowing he'd crossed the line. He had never meant for their 'rivalry' to go this far, it was supposed to be friendly competition, not each other's worst enemy. He mentally cursed himself; he hated what his image had become. He hated the attention; he hated having to always be perfect, because in truth he wasn't, instead he had hurt the one who was dearest to him, the one who was supposed to be his best friend. He knew that apologizing now would be pointless, so he did what came naturally to him. He cried. He cried because he had broken the person he loved so much. He cried because he knew after this, he would never love him back. He cried and cries no longer caring about his 'image'. He cried shamelessly. His heart was shattered, but wanted to make sure Ash wasn't broken, broken beyond repair. So, Gary ran after him, hoping to save the soul of his 'friend.'
Ash thought Gary meant every word he said, he though Gary really did think he was a loser, that he would always be second rate to him. He didn't understand what happened to their friendship, why he had to go so far to prove he's better than him. He ran from the battlefield, now crying his soul out in the viridian forest. He always knew Gary never meant what he said before their rivalry, and he fell right into it.
/FLASHBACK/
9 year old Gary and Ash were sitting on a hill on the outskirts of pallet town, watching the sun fade into the horizon. "Hey? Ash?" Gary asked nervously. "Hmm?" Gary leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on Ash's soft pink lips. "I love you." He said as he broke apart. Ash blushed but placed a kiss on Gary's cheek. "I love you too, Gary" Ash smiled "…and I always will…" Gary whispered into his ear.
/FLASHBACK END/
Those words echoed in Ash's brain. "…and I always will…" Ash cried harder. "I-it was always a l-lie! He n-never l-l-loved m-m-me." He cried. Gary heard it. "…But I do…" he whispered through tears. He finally found where Ash was hiding, and ran up and hugged him tightly trying his best to comfort him, unable to bare seeing him like this. Gary's heart leaped when the most unexpected thing Ash could have done happened. Ash held Gary closer, in a warm welcoming embrace. Gary smile slightly. "I love you Ash…" He whispered gently. "…and together, we will dance like wild fire…"
How was it? There is more but for now this is the prologue, sorry it's short Chapter 1(in progress) will be longer, and will start a different point, sorry if you wanted it to be continued from here, I don't plan to let them off that easy.
