It's short and random, but it's my first Haven fic! Woohoo! We really need more Haven fics. For real. No joke. HAVEN I LOVE YOU! I'm no fan of Duke, and it shows a little in here xD

...

I didn't plan on, you know, falling in love with Audrey Parker. It just kind of…happened. One day, we're trying to save Duke from dying of old age and the next WABAM! I find out I'm in love.

I don't think that falling in love is ever really planned. Especially with me. I've been "Nathan, the guy who can't feel things" for as long as forever and that's about as long as I've been trying to prove myself. You know, trying to prove that just because I can't feel things doesn't mean I can't feel things. Emotions. You get the point.

I think I can describe myself as a fairly tough person. Well, unless there are babies around. Audrey won't stop bugging me about that. In fact, I've been trying to avoid her slightly just so I don't have to face her stupid baby mocking.

Hopefully she didn't notice.

"Hey, Nathan. I'm hungry. Wanna go get some food?" Audrey asked. I should say no; we had a lot of paperwork from the last case we worked. But I just couldn't refuse. How unfair is that? Well, lunch with a pretty woman was never a bad thing. I'm not complaining.

"Sure." I answered and stood up from my desk. "Where do you wanna go?"

"Let's just go to the Grey Gull."

Ew. I really did not want to see Duke around there. I don't exactly like him. My jealous side tends to leak out a little when he's around Audrey. Especially when they flirt.

"Okay." I'm a macho guy. I'm no sissy. Duke Crocker (what kind of name is that?) would not stop me from going out to lunch with my partner.

….

Lunch was very uncomfortable for me.

Of course, Duke was there. Why did I think he wouldn't be? I spent the entire lunch watching Duke make moves on Audrey and Audrey make oogley eyes at Duke. I wanted to throw up by the end of it all.

"So, dinner Saturday night?" Duke said smoothly. I wanted to punch him in the face. Hopefully, Audrey remembered that we had plans that night. We liked to call it a "chill night" where we just sat around watching movies and eating pizza.

"Uhm, actually, I—"

"Oh, it's fine if you can't do it…I'll just spend another lonely night…" He trailed off. Oh he's good…

"It's not that, it's just Nathan and I—"

"Of course." He gritted his teeth and smiled. "If you get bored with the cold fish, I'll be on call."

With that, he walked off. To my delight, Audrey was not amused.

"What a jerk to say that in front of your face!" She shook her head in disgust. "You know, I'm glad we're having a chill night." She smiled up at me. I smiled back.

It feels good to know that the girl you love doesn't put you at second best. Now, I couldn't wait for Saturday night.

If it's OOC, blame the fact that I've only seen 3 episodes as of yet. Out of the...5-6 that are out xD But I'm in love with Nathan. And that baby stuff in the latest episode :D
