Konohamaru sits down on the bench. Konohamaru is sad. Konohamaru cries.

"Grandpa, why did you leave me?" Konohamaru says. Konohamaru loves his grandpa very much. Konohamaru stands up. Konohamaru is going to do something about his sadness. Konohamaru walks down the street. Konohamaru sees Ebisu.

"Konohamaru why are you crying?"

Ebisu knows that Konohamaru is sad. Konohamaru's grandpa has just died. Ebisu continues before Konohamaru can speak.

"You cannot bring your grandpa back. Stop crying!"

Konohamaru gets angry. "Yes I can!" Konohamaru says.

Konohamaru runs away. Ebisu does not follow.

Konohamaru sits at the graveyard. He looks at his grandpa's grave. He grabs his shovel and digs up his grandpa's body.

A couple of hours later, the body is digged. Konohamaru opens the coffin and drags out his grandpa's body.

It smells bad. Konohamaru did not care. He loves his grandpa's scent, no matter how bad it smells. An eye is hanging out of a socket and Konohamaru can see grandpa's skull through rotting flesh. Konohamaru licks his grandpa's skin to see if it was really real. If it was really his grandpa. It is! Konohamaru is very excited. Konohamaru drags his grandpa's body home.

Konohamaru strokes his grandpa's body as he lays with him.

"Nobody can take you away from me now, grandpa. I love you so so much!" Konohamaru says. He enjoys his grandpa's presence. He is like a teddy bear. It reminds him of all those nights he could not sleep so he crawled in bed with grandpa. He misses the scent of smoke on his grandpa's body but it does not matter. He can hear his grandpa's voice telling him a bedtime story.

Konohamaru's mum walks in, and she holds her nose.

"Konohamaru!"

Konohamaru gasps. His mum is going to take grandpa away! Not again! He jumps up.
"I won't let you take him!"

Konohamaru picks up a kunai that was on the table. Konohamaru had prepared it just in case. He runs to his mum. He stabs her. Her mouth opens in a strangled cry. Tears sting her eyes. She takes a step back and looks at her son. Konohamaru is covered in mud. His fingers are bleeding. He smells like death. Konohamaru charges again and knocks her down.

"I won't let you take him away!" Konohamaru says. Konohamaru pounds at her chest with the kunai again and again. Blood jumps like red happy fishes and splatters like a baby raining from the sky. Konohamaru giggles and his mother screams. He is still stabbing. She is still crying. "You won't take grandpa away!"

She tries to fend him off but it feels like a snake is closing around her neck. That snake is dragging her underground. Her son is killing her. She is dead.

Konohamaru is glad she is gone. Konohamaru misses the smell of smoke more than ever. Konohamaru gets an idea. Konohamaru searches the house and finds matches. He lights the match. He sets the curtains on fire. Konohamaru runs back in bed with his grandpa.

"Good night, grandpa. We will be together forever now."

Konohamaru smells smoke. He is comfortable. He falls asleep.

The house burns down.
