Notes: Alas, another drabble. I am no stranger to self pressure and perfection so I thought I would relate it to none other than Rachel Berry. Un-beta-d so any mistakes are my own (don't hesitate to tell me so!) I hope you enjoy (and review too *wink wink*)!

Disclaimer: Don't own Glee. If I did I would be in there singing and dancing with them. No Joke.

Perfection

Perfection. Something we all want, yet it is virtually unattainable. The more we strive, push for it; the further away it becomes. No matter how hard we try, or what we do there is always something that could have been done better. A rock left to be turned. She is no stranger to this feeling.

Perfection. She longs for it.

The primal impulse to exceed and excel all those around her compels her forward, all the while leaving people behind. She wants to be the best version of herself, only for herself. The star is a metaphor, but all stars burn out someday. There are enough stars in the sky to take her place, and she can't let that happen.

She fails to realise that the more she pushes for perfection, the further she falls away from it.
