Author's note: My first poetry type fic. Poem is in italics and regular print is story.
Waiting
Kanami grabs a pen and pad of paper, heading outside under a tree. She relaxes, getting comfortable and uncaps the pen and opens her spiral notebook, letting her hand glide on the paper writing:
You leave.
I stay.
I stay waiting for you to come home.
You are always out.
Never staying too long once back.
But that's okay.
I get to see you still either way.
She looks up from her writing as rain starts to pour down. She stays there and goes back writing, her hand gliding once again.
Rain pours down and I still wait.
Yet I don't see you.
Wherever you are,
Be careful and stay safe.
I want you to be back soon.
I want your hugs.
Your kindness.
Your love.
I'll wait forever for you.
All because I love you.
Kanami puts her pen cap back on and shuts her notebook, standing there leaning against the tree watching the rain fall.
