Harry Potter fell to the ground at the feet of Voldemort. The tall, pale man smiled grimly down at him. Then he fell too, over him, limply.

Around them was complete silence. Clothing fluttered and blank eyes looked lifelessly out upon the bleak battlefield.

Far off in the silence, a single feather fluttered from the sky and landed gently on the ground.

Lucius Malfoy landed gracefully on the balcony with the sun setting behind him. He stepped inside, going from raven to human effortlessly. He turned and looked through the room, his eyes landing on the mirror. A weary, tired face looked back at him; gray eyes and blonde hair going almost white.

He turned away quickly; the eyes reminded him of younger days and a little boy who liked to sit on his lap...

He picked up the knife laying on the desk and started to play with it, randomly running it over his fingers and arms, never hard enough to break his skin.

Then he savagely, quickly brought it down on his wrist. Then the other.

Little drops of red fell on the immaculate white carpet.

-------------------

Remus Lupin howled at the scarlet sun. A few tears fell from his eyes, as he watched the sky turn darker. It lasted for a long while.

"Severus..."

As the moon rose, the wolf took over. It didn't know how to express the purely human emotion that filled it. So it ran.

When the sun came up the next morning, Remus Lupin's body lay at the foot of the cliffs. Waves washed slowly in and out.

By the time night fell again, nothing to show he had existed remained. The waves smoothed the shore clean as far off in the distance, a scream echoed out.

-------------------

Sibyl Trelawney screamed when she saw the carnage. She screamed and screamed and couldn't stop.

Outside her door lay thousands of muggles, flesh burned away. Only bloodstained bones remained.

She fell to her knees.

She was alive... she was alone...

A small wail escaped her.

She didn't want to be a survivor.
