Title (working) Equal and Opposite
Description
I'm told my new name means falcon. If that was the case then why am I surrounded by people who look like the rear end of a duck? SI-OC rated M just for safety.
Disclaimer: I don't own the Naruto franchise.
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. A fundamental law of the universe given by Newton, explains many of the intrinsic happenings spanning the cosmos. Such a beautifully simple concept was more important than I would ever know. I wasn't very interested the laws and ideas that governed the conceivable universe.
As an aspiring neurosurgeon, attending a prestigious medical school, my main concerns were the biological and chemical complexities of the human mind. Rather than physics, my pressing concerns lied within tomes of chemical compounds and residency prep. It wouldn't be an issue for long, however, as finishing my medical degree became an afterthought. At least I don't have to listen to anymore ancient professors ramble on about an organic process for hours. My pragmatism dutifully reminds me that my years in school are wasted so my small victory becomes pyrrhic.
An interesting though approaches when considering the physical process of death by impact. The biological aspect comes quite naturally. A heavy force applied onto the human torso with a quick moment of inertia can, in most cases, sever the spinal cord and cause instant death for many. How quaint. If you're lucky enough to survive the initial impact, a plethora of other debilitating risk factors come into play. If you aren't worried about bones puncturing rather important organs or internal hemorrhaging, then the shock alone could kill you.
A rather curious line of thought indeed. That was what a medical textbook could tell you with quite little effort. The theory pales before the actual happening. On a rather long day of lectures and private research, my opportunity to learn death by impact in the truest sense was quite forcibly given to me in the form of a swerving car.
I could list every nerve that ties into the feeling of pain, the classifications of neurons that fire, tell you quite obviously that pain was generally not a pleasant thing. None of the knowledge prepared me for the excruciating second of agony that my body faced before my pain receptors finally stopped firing. I guess I was one of the lucky ones to survive the initial impact. Dying really takes the fun out of the word "lucky."
What I could not identify was the sudden rush of cold sweeping through my body. A moment of hard clarity hit me. I could feel my body shutting down. I could feel my fractured bones and my life essence painting the road beneath me. With one last thought I realized…
I'm dying…..
Then my eyes closed and blissful darkness overtook me.
"Welcome to Konoha Hayato"
Author's Notes
Over the course of about 4 years I have read most of the interesting FanFiction centered around the narutoverse. I've read many of the crossovers and unique takes on the Naruto Universe. I decided to try my hand at it even though I'm a horrible author. I've enjoyed SI-OC fics the most so thats what I went with. My biggest inspiration for Hayato as a character is from Killua Zoldyk from the HunterXHunter franchise. I could never write a character so masterful as Killua so don't get your hopes up. Please leave a review if you like the concept and any suggestions you have. Ill be trying to post the first real chapter later tonight to lay the foundations.
Just to clarify I'm not so shitty that I'm going to drop the way-too-OP main character in a story filled with harems, angst and bashing any character I remotely dislike in cannon.
