Ok, a random one-shot.

Don't you think you'd be driven mad if you went to Neverland?

"Get away from me, Hook!" she screams. It's him. He's here. Somehow, he's escaped the crocodile, and he's here.

"Wendy, calm down! I am not 'Cook', or whatever you call him! I am your father! Now stop this childish charade and get into bed!"

He can't be her father. No. The resemblance is uncanny.

"No, you are not! You are just saying that!"

Mr Darling pinches the bridge of his nose, and backs slowly out of the bedroom, as his distraught daughter waves a pen about as a weapon.

"What did she say, dear?" Mrs Darling asks, as her husband exits the room.

"I cannot get a word of sense out of her. The neighbours are starting to gossip. She's turning down all marriage proposals, and lowering our name. She refuses to marry anyone but him!" Mr Darling cries, throwing his hands up in frustration.

"Let me speak to her." Mrs Darling says. She enters the bedroom to find her eldest child frantically searching the night skies for a non-existent star.

"I saw a shadow, mother. He came back! He came back!" Wendy cries, flinging open the window. Her mother shakes her head.

"Well, why don't you wait for him in bed? If you sit by the window, you'll surely catch a chill. He wouldn't like that, would he?" her mother says soothingly, using her fantasies to try and bring her back to the real world.

"Now, if I could shut the window-"

"No mother! You mustn't!"

"But surely, he can open it again?"

"You can't open the window from the outside. You said so yourself, mother."

Mrs Darling sighs, defeated.

"Any such luck?" her husband asks.

"I got her into her bed. Hopefully she will fall asleep soon."

"I can't take this anymore. Tomorrow, we call the Doctor."

So, as dawn approaches, Mr Darling rouses his daughter from her sleep, telling her that someone is interested in hearing her story.

"It is the only way to get her to come." He tells his wife, sorrowfully.

So Wendy follows him, and tells the man all about Neverland, and Peter, and the newly adopted Lost Boys, and the Indians, and the pirates.

"I don't know what she means about 'adopting' these boys. The only children in the house are she, and her two brothers. She speaks to these boys as if they are actually here." Mr Darling tells the doctor, worry evident in his voice.

The doctor nods solemnly, and Mr Darling understands. He dreads having to tell his wife the news. He knows how she will take it.

"Where am I going, father?" his daughter asks, the childish innocence still clear in her voice, even though she has long grown up. Her father stares at her, sadly. At least she didn't call him 'Hook'.

"Neverland, darling." He whispers, kissing her head and walking away.

Sorry if the ending seems a bit rushed. Its past midnight now, and I'm a bit sleepy :)
