Between Worlds

1. Pokemon Kid

"Hey babe, what ya doing?" Hunter asked as he walked into the living room. "The usual, watching Pokemon on T.V." I grin up at him from the couch. He sighs a me. "You are an unusual twenty-two year old, Storm." "So?" I challenge, sticking my tongue out. He grins and steps in front of the T.V., blocking my view. "Wanna go to the store with me?" He asks as I lean to the side trying to see past him. He mirrored me, again blocking my view. "Fine..." I grumble, giving up on seeing how the episode ends.

Five minutes later we are in Hunter's truck driving down the highway. Bouncing in my seat I take in the scenery. Half way to our destination we pass a large property covered in well kept grass and bushes. Going through it is a long winding dirt driveway with a dark wooden fence on both sides, separating it from the vegetation. On the edge of the property was a large sign that said P. LAND.

"That place reminds me of the Safari Zone!" I exclaim. "Maybe P. LAND stands for Pokemon Land," he jokes. I grin at Hunter. "That would be awesome. I can see it now, a red and white ball in my hand. Any Pokemon could be inside. Press the button and a cute little Rattata pops out!" "The purple mouse thing?" he asks. "Yes!" I reply happily. "What the hell is with your fascination with mice?" he asks, horrified. "Really Hunter? What is wrong with mice?" I ask defensively.

Hunter simply shakes his head at me and pulls into the parking lot of the store. "We are here." "Yay! I wants beef jerky! Pleeeaase?" I give Hunter the cute sad puppy eyes look. He laughs. "Okay, okay jerky for the Pokemon kid." I ignore the last part of that remark and playfully push him out of the truck.
