I wrote this like, 2-3 months ago and I forgot all about it. The main reason I've not been updating is the fact that I'm a lazy little shit but also because my keyboard was fucked up. My dad bought me a new one and I got it put in tonight by him (he fixes computers) and I'm on the summer holidays, plus I'm not doing anything these whole six weeks so I hae no excuse anymore. I'll try get updates for Fall, The One With Chandler and Rachel, and I'm going to attempt to finish an update for By Your Side tonight. Leave prompts for me in the reviews? I'm bored and I'd love new things to write about. This is a huge authors note, but yeah. Pretty much, this is a really short piece about Robin being sick and Barney looking after her and its kinda cute and shit. Review?
"Barney, thank you. You didn't have to do this." Robin mumbled into her boyfriends chest.
"What you talking about? You're my girl. I like to protect my girl." He put an arm around her and they continued to watch America's Next Top Model. They were having fun commenting on the dresses and poses they were making.
"We're out of butterscotch." Robin complained, standing up to get some more beer.
"Ah, ah, ah. Sit down, Scherbatsky." He pushed her down gently and made his way over to the kitchen, taking a pack of beer and more butterscotch.
"Thanks, babe." She cringed automatically at the nickname she had used, apologising.
"Flugelhorn, Robin." She giggled at him, nodding her head.
"Sorry, won't happen again. Canadians honour." He grinned at her, returning to his seat.
"And next, the one and only, Cassidy!" Barney mocked the presenter on the T.V., sending Robin into another fit of laughter.
"You're fun to hang out with, Barn."
"Guilty as charged. Wait, did I use that right?" Robin hit his arm lightly, then leaning back.
"Hey, uh, Barney?" She asked nervously, attracting his attention.
"Mm?"
"Look, I know it's early, we've only been dating for a few months, and trust me, appreciate this, kay?" He nodded, confused.
"I think..." She trailed off. He gave her a soft smile and she caved. "I think I'm in love with you."
Panic hit Barney as she said this. Not because it was too serious, but because he remembered what Ted had told him. If she tells you she loves you she's already broken up with you in her mind.
"I'm not an idiot?" He asked warily.
"Course you are. But uh, what spring that question?"
"Just something Ted told me in the Robin 101 class." She groaned at the mention but he continued.
"He said...he said that if you told me you loved me you'd already broken up with me in your mind. Have you?" She shook her head.
"Nope."
"Okay, well in that case, I love you too, idiot." He kissed her lightly on the lips and he wrapped an arm around her waist. They sat like that until they fell asleep, America's Next Top Model playing in the background.
