Robin pulled open the fridge with a heavy sigh; the cold breeze passing through the teen's "Gotham Knights" t-shirt with ease. The hacker pulled out one of the water bottles lining along the metal door before slamming it shut. Robin slid around the kitchen's island and into a barstool, feet swaying in the air.
The younger half of the dynamic duo placed the unopened bottle on the marble counter, and placed his head in his hands. Robin's gaze flickered from the water; to the clock then back to the water again. The teen let his head slide from his hands to rest on the marble counter with a light thud. "What's up Miss M?" He muttered, shifting into a sitting position and turning around in his seat to face his teammate.
Megan stepped out of the shadows with an apologetic smile. "Sorry, I just…" the Martian trailed off stepping forward and wrapping her arms around Robin and keeping him locked in a hug.
Robin was shocked by the girl's actions and his first instinct was to push her away. But the young bird fought the urge and slowly the little bird relaxed into the embrace. Megan smiled when she felt Robin return the gesture, tightened her own grip. The duo stood in a comfortable silence for a few minutes until Robin finally pulled away.
"Why?" The hacker asked.
Megan shrugged, "You needed a hug." She stated, and for the second time that night Robin was left in shock. Miss M pulled Robin into another quick hug, before biding the teen good night. "See you in the morning Robin." She whispered, disappearing through the doorway and down the hallway.
Robin was left half sitting on his barstool watching Megan's retreating back and mouth a gape. "Thanks." He whispered a genuine smile on his face. The boy wonder dropped to the floor and shuffled his way out of the kitchen and off to bed.
