Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or any other character.
A/N: this is a poem I wrote myself a couple of years ago. Thought I'd turn it into a one-shot.
Summary: Neji is an Anbu and my female Naruto character is the new Rokudamie Hokage. Natsumi is home looking after her daughter and she writes a poem to describe her feelings for her husband Neji. Neji comes home from a mission and discovers the poem.
Pairings: Neji/female Naruto
Love
Neji Hyuga walked through the two bedroom apartment he shared with his wife Natsumi. He passed by the bedroom where his six month old daughter, Yuna, was sleeping peacefully. He softly walked to her bedside and paused to take in her presence. She was a perfect blend of them both, with his black hair and her mother's trademark blue eyes. A soft sound alerted his attention to a figure curled up on the couch underneath the bedroom window. Yellow hair pulled back into a ponytail caught his attention. Natsumi was fast asleep. Neji smirked and walked over to where the Rokudamie slept peacefully. A note book lying at her feet caught his attention. He picked up the book intending to set it back on the couch, but a poem caught his attention.
Loveā¦
Love is like a never ending rainbow
Full of life and color
Like a glass of refreshing wine
Soothing to both body and soul
Love is like a book
Full of adventure and romance
Knights in shining armor
Riding to the rescue full of courage and valor
Love is like a dove
So beautiful and pure
Without the taint that life and pain bring
Without sadness, anger, hurt, and sorrow
Love is like chocolate
Full of sweetness and decadence
Full of life and energy
A perfect blend of champagne and candles
Love is romance, diner with a loved one, soul mate, and friend
Making a family with the one who holds your heart
Love is like a never ending rainbow
Always there to welcome one to stay
Neji finished the poem with a smile. He looked at the bottom of the page and written in a neat script was the words to my beloved Neji, with love always Natsumi.
Neji put the book down and gathered his wife's sleeping body up in his arms. Pausing to make sure his daughter was still sleeping; he carried his love to their bedroom. Once there, he stripped them of their clothes and settled down in the bed, Natsumi snuggled securely in his arms. Natsumi sighed and settled closer a peaceful smile on her face. Neji smiled and thought it's good to be home, before he too drifted off to sleep.
