When she is six years old, Daphne gets the news that she is getting a younger sister, another beautiful Greengrass child.

She is ecstatic. It doesn't last long. When the child is two months from being born, an 'accident' occurs.

"Daphne, honey," her mother says blandly, crouching down to talk to her daughter without a hint of shame lurking in her eyes. "Your little sister was born without magic, and she died. You understand, don't you? Such a smart girl."

Daphne doesn't understand them, nor when Astoria asks for an explanation ten minutes later, wide-eyed and adorably naive.

Daphne cradles her sister close. "I don't get it either."

But eventually, she understands how her parents covered up a murder, how they believe in the cruelty of the Dark Lord's ideals.

She vows to never be like them again.

The Squib Relations Act (SRA for short) was met with approval from the community, most notably war-heroine Hermione Granger, who was quoted as saying that SRA is, "the start of a better world for squibs."
