"Hey Maddie!"said Zack as he walked up to the candy counter.
Maddie was facing the other way with her fist moving up and down in the
air.
"Uh, Maddie...what are you doing?"Zack looked at her with one
eyebrow up.
"Oh, I'm practicing for my cheerleading try-outs at school. Do
you wanna watch one of my cheers?"She walked out from behind the candy
counter.
"Sure"
"Okay, here goes:
You may be good at soccer,
You may be good at track,
but when it comes to football,
we are best at that!
Hit it!" Maddie was stomping her feet in a cheerleading rhythme.
"Wow Maddie! Great job"
"Thanks Zack. I really hope I make it. You know, a lot of girls
are trying out"
"So you cheer for football"
"Yea, why"
"No reason..." Zack starred into space with this clever face on.
Zack walked away, and Maddie just shrugged and went back to the candy
counter.
