Teenage Wasteland
"I can't just sit around and watch you be with him." "Well what the hell do you want from me, Eli?" You respond back angrily. "You ended this, not me." And as you gaze into his dark green orbs, you and he both know that it doesn't matter. "What do you want me to do?" You whisper as you walk off into the darkness. Branches and leaves crunch beneath your feet as you walk away from the handsome teenager. "Clare" He yells in a hushed tone as he runs quickly, trying to catch up to you. Your feet start to move rapidly as you try your best to get away from him.
"Clare." He whispers as he taps your shoulder from behind, and you try your best to convince yourself that this isn't real. That he isn't chasing after you. But his touch is warm and you know that there's no way you can talk yourself out of this. You look into his eyes and then ram yourself gently into his chest as his large arms wrap around your small frame. Your nose gets lost in his musky scent and you can't remember why you ever doubted him.
He grabs you face forcefully and even though you've seen this happen a million times on your sappy romance movies, your heart starts to race with excitement. He kisses you passionately and you kiss him back because he's Eli Goldsworthy and you can't remember how long you've wanted this for. "What does this mean?" You whisper against his closed lips as your words echo in the silence. And for a split second he doesn't answer you, and you start to feel like maybe you were wrong about him. "This should've been our first kiss." He says slowly in monotone and you can't remember ever being this nervous.
"It still can be." You whisper shyly. "How?" "I messed everything up." He forced sadly as he pulled at his dark roots. "I'm Clare Edwards, nice to meet you." You say as you extend your hand out to him. "Eli Goldsworthy, it's a pleasure." He mocked as he shook your hand, and then his lips curved up into that smirk that only Eli Goldsworthy could do. And you can't help but find yourself smiling back because it's been a while since you've seen him look that happy. You both stand there gazing at each other, and you pray to god that this moment would last just a little bit longer.
And then your chest starts to hurt with that feeling that that may be described as love. And you know that there's nothing you can do about it. Laughter and passionate kisses float throughout your naïve minds. And you hold onto each other tightly, knowing that you don't have a lot of time. Because you should know by now that fairytales just weren't made for you. Because you should know that you're both just living in a teenage wasteland.
Hey Guys! Please review and tell me what you think! Anyone want another chapter? :)
