Surrender by Mika Casey

Shino stared at the concrete beneath his feet, as if doing so was going to change something about that day. The sky reflected the sidewalk, making the world seem like a colorless oblivion swarming around him. He was wearing his favorite jacket and his dark sunglasses hid bloodshot, swollen eyes.

Standing before the Hyuuga compound, Shino began to shake. He walked towards the door on weak knees, ready to collapse at any moment. His pale knuckles trembled as he knocked three times on the door. Hanabi answered. She looked at Shino expectantly, not even greeting him.

"Is Hinata h-home?" The Aburame boy asked.

He swallowed hard, then passed Hanabi to walk towards Hinata's room, which was the third door on the left.

When he walked in, Shino saw Hinata sitting cross-legged on her bed holding a large book in one hand and a cup of tea in the other. She was wearing a white dress, and her dark hair curled slightly around her face, perfectly framing her mauve eyes and alabaster skin. "How may I help you?" She almost purred, standing and setting her tea on the table next to her bed before crossing the room to greet him.

Silence ensued, and Shino stared. Hinata was always so painfully polite. But this had to be taken care of.

"I'm sorry!" He cried out, practically sobbing.

The lavender-eyed girl was taken aback. "For what, Shino?" She reached forward with a dainty hand, letting it rest on the fabric of his coat. Hinata smiled a little, speaking softly. "You have done absolutely nothing to apologize for."

He blinked, then used his long, pale fingers to touch her face. "I know. But I'm about to." His voice peaked with sorrow as he pulled her mouth up onto his, feeling the warmth of her lips against his own. His heart sank when he felt her body go rigid against his, so he immediately pulled away from her.

To his suprise, Shino saw a smile decorating Hinata's pretty face. As he froze, she gently kissed his chin, then his nose, and then left a butterfly-like kiss on his mouth. Nothing had to be said, as Shino had originally anticipated. He'd had a whole speech prepared; his apology, declaration of love, and desire to take his own life because he couldn't be with her. But now, the words escaped him. He took her into his arms, made bold by the strength of accepted adoration. Her body radiated warmth, feeding his pent-up yearning for human contact. He was brought alive by every little touch she graced him with; her breath on his lips, her fingers trailing the skin on his wrist, her bangs brushing against his face.

He brought her closer and kissed her again, holding her so that every crevice of her body was pressed as close to him as possible. His fingers came quickly up her back and into her hair as he inhaled her sweet vanilla scent and lightly bit her lower lip. He paused, feeling her hands through his jacket as she tugged desperately at the small of his back. He broke away from her to quickly shed the jacket: his body temperature was skyrocketing.

They shared a third kiss as Shino's bugs began to crawl excitedly under his skin, making him sweat. He shook almost violently as an intense wave of sensation rolled through him. Hinata rolled her hips against Shino, and for a moment he opened his eyes and he could have sworn the whole world had blacked out and nothing existed except her.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Hinata giggled, teasing as she gazed up as him. "Did I do that to you?"

Shino could barely get the words out. "Y-yes. Only you c-could...make me feel like that, Hina-chan."

As she smiled, Shino couldn't stop himself from kissing her and starting the whole thing over again.
