Title: Futari no Imi
Disclaimer: One Piece is Odachi's.
Warnings: Because I could not stop for death, he kindly stopped for me.
AN: It would be nice if you could listen to Futari no Imi by Mamori Anezaki(From: Eyeshield 21) while reading this. I can't put the direct link to the song. However, if you want, it is possible to look it up on google, or a cool site called imeem. Just type in the title of this song into the 'search' spot. :)

He wrapped a strong, battered arm around her waist, pulling her back into his embrace. She let him, too tired to protest.
The wide, dark sea spread out before them. The moon served as a sun. The stars directed the path of the Thousand Sunny.
He grasped the railing beside her hand, uncaring of the splinters which dug into his fingers.
"Hey Luffy?" Her voice broke through his thoughts.
"Hm?" His eyes were trained on the horizon.
Her dirty hand released the railing and reached out to grasp some unknown thing. She glared so hard at her white knuckled fist, an agonized emotion bubbling from her chest to her throat.
A larger, more rugged palm enclosed her smaller one in its warm hold.
"I want that star." She could hear her voice crack, no matter how hard she willed it not to. He tightened his hold on her and smiled sadly into her orange hair, determination and resolve flared. It was one of the times he felt so pumped up, peaceful and shattered at the same time.
She fit so perfectly against his body.
"Aa." He brought her rigid arm back to rest on her chest, avoiding the wounds there. He had worse. Nami squeezed her eyes shut and bit her lip. He held on tighter. "Me too."
"What do we do now?" She asked softly, wanting to curl up into him and escape reality. She felt him shake his head against her blood matted hair.
"We wait."
"For what?" She whispered.
"For the sun to rise." His voice was stable, but Nami knew better.
Behind them, six bodies, covered with white bed sheets and table cloths laid side by side. Unmoving, waiting for the sun to rise.
The distant strains of triumph
Sound; agonized, and clear.
"Luffy..." She gave into her sorrow and cried with a bowed head and unrelenting tears. His hand snaked up to her shoulder, supporting her, but he could not fool her, even if he refused to let out a single sound. Eyes bright with tears dripping onto her orange head, remained determinedly glaring at the horizon.
Even if there were only one Strawhat crew member left, all their dreams will never end.
This was their resolve.
This was their pact.
This was their bond,
As a family.
AN: ...You know Eyeshield's OST: Futari no Imi, sang by Mamori Anezaki? Yeah...DANG SAD. Made me squeeze my own heart until I coughed out this fic. Who ever said you needed a boyfriend to get heartache?
This is Luffy/Nami in a sense, don't worry. I'll write a more cheery one for you guys in the future. I just needed to write a sad one. Oh! Can anyone tell me where that fragment of a poem is from? hehehe! If you do, i'll spend more time developing the much more cheery fic! hehe. Thanks for reading! Comments are very much welcome. Constructive criticism are always good. :)
PS. Thank you for telling me the link wasn't working, Shinjite.:) And to those who reviewed, a hearty thank you to you all! It made me more confident in my writing. As for my other stories, I have found no inspiration yet. But it will come. :) Thank you again! Take care!
