Title: Breaking Out
Author: fbi-woman
Rating: K / PG or whatever
Type: Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus
Spoilers: Nothing really… I don't think lol
Disclaimer: I own nothing and I'm not claiming to. This is just an original work inspired by a character.
Summary: Um, I don't even know how to summarize this lol. Um… a woman struggling to break out of her shell I suppose.
A/N: Once again, lol, I shall re-iterate that I know absolutely nothing about poetry and I'm kind of just flying by the seat of my pants and writing what pops into my head lol so hopefully it's decent. Thanks to everyone who's given me feedback on my other stuff.

Smile for the photos and play your role

The fake look of happiness burns in your soul

Forced to conform though you don't belong

Yearning for something they think is wrong

Living a life that is not your own

Surrounded by people, yet feeling alone

Desperately longing for another world

Where the internal voice can finally be heard

Lusting for secrets and new intrigue

Privately fearing you'll never be free

How will your trapped spirit ever survive?

You need to release it, allow it to thrive

Creative desire flows in your veins

Cast aside the shackles and break the chains

Temptation seductively sways its hips

Curiosity kisses your hungry lips

It hurts the loved ones who can't understand

But you pick up your camera; take life in your hands

See into the soul and freeze it in time

Discover yourself in the depths of the mind
