Stiles was lying on his bed. The silence was deafening. He should have been at school. But how could he when she wouldn't be there? How could he walk the halls she once walked? He was the reason Allison was dead. Allison. Allison Argent. His friend. Once so alive and now torn from life at the hands of someone she loved. He did it. He did it.

His hand shaking, he slowly reached into his pocket to get his phone. He barely managed to type in Allison's number. And he called her. He knew what would happen, but he did it anyway.

With each knew ring brought new pain to his heart. Maybe she will answer? Maybe this is just some sick, twisted dream from the Nogitsune? Maybe- A bright voice stopped his thoughts.

"Hello, you've reached Allison Argent. Please leave your name and number and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks!"

It was that moment; he broke. Because she wasn't coming back. She was killed, by him. She would never speak again, not to him, not to anyone. And she was never going to answer his call.

While his mind raced, the robotic voice attempted to tell him that after the beep, he could leave a message. But it wasn't until the beep actually happened that he was drawn back to reality.

"Allison?" He asked, voice cracking, into the phone.

The silence was deafening.

"Allison!" His voice was loud as his breathing picked up.

A knock on the door almost made Stiles drop the phone. He ignored the knock and returned to his message.

"Allison, please forgive me. Please-" The robotic voice had alerted him that the message was sent.

"Stiles?" Scott curiously asked as he opened the door. "Hey, are you in here?"

Stiles didn't even hear his best friend. He did it. He was the reason she was dead. He re-dialed the number and listened to the rings like waves in a vast ocean.

Heavy footsteps bounded up the stairs, but still failed to catch Stiles's attention. Scott peaked his head into Stiles room.

Stiles looked up at his best friend, as Allison talked in his ear: "Hello, you've reached Allison Argent. Please leave your name and number and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks!"

They didn't talk as they robotic voice returned to alert the caller that a message could be recorded after the beep.

Beep.

"Stiles-" Scott carefully started. "Stiles, it's not your fault. You don't have to do this to yourself. She-she isn't dead because of you. It was the Nogitsune-"

"But I couldn't stop him! And now she's gone, Scott!" Stiles yelled, tears making lines down his face.

"Stiles don't do this. Allison loved us, she loved you-"

"And I let her die!"

"You couldn't have done anything! He had control over you! And I know it hurts. God, it hurts. But you can't let her memory live in you like this. Allison was happy and amazing and she protected us at all costs. Remember her like that Stiles. Remember the the girl you loved, we all loved. Please." Scott walked over to his best friend and held his hand out. "She wouldn't want you to do this."

Stiles stared at Scott. The phone slipped from his hand. Stiles hugged Scott as his tears marked his shirt.

"I just wanted to talk to her. I want her back, Scotty. It's not fair." Stiles wept.

The two friends sat, clutching each other for dear life, without the one person who could bring them sollace.
