Power Rangers aren't mine. Unfortunately. The only compensation I'm getting is the satisfaction of having two hot guys hook-up; something that would never happen in the show. I'm not going to pretend that I can write either man well, but I'm going to try.

Chapter 1

"Why did your father hire that quack?" Eric stormed into Wes's office with an irate look on his face.

"Which quack is that?" he replied while tossing down his pen onto the desk. He leaned back and stared at Eric.

"The one that's supposed to help us work together," Eric growled, pacing the floor quickly.

Wes frowned. Easily, he ignored the tug of attraction that had become a permanent part of his days since Eric had come back into his life. Watching that compact body move across the floor like an angry jungle cat was harder.

"You're going to have to give me a bit more information if you want me to know what the problem is," he finally said.

Eric sat stiffly in the brown armchair in front of Wes's desk and Wes came around to sit in the matching one, angling it toward Eric.

Eric glared at him again. Was he really going to have to explain to his new partner what the problem was? "Have you read that memo Mr. Reynolds," the name fairly spit out, "sent out with his recommendation?"

Wes nodded, finally seeing the light. "The one where he wants the two of us to share a secret with one another? Yeah, I saw it. What's the problem, Eric?"

"The problem? Do you really want me to know something about you that no one else knows? Do you really think I want to do the same?"

"It's a trust exercise. Dad thinks that we'll be better partners if we trust one another."

"I trust you. Just not with something personal!"

Wes shook his head, slightly hurt that Eric wasn't cooperating. "Listen, we don't have to do it. If it bothers you that much, then we won't do it."

"Right. And have someone tell Mr. Collins that I refuse to play nice with his son."

"I wouldn't do that to you, Eric," he replied softly.

"I didn't mean it like that." Eric growled. He glanced at Wes quickly. "I didn't think you would, I was talking more about Reynolds."

"We can tell him that we did it."

He looked up to see Eric staring at him with a strange look in his eyes. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." Eric shook his head. He didn't need this. Being attracted to a guy he had attended school with was okay. Being attracted to a man running around in red spandex was great. Being attracted to his boss's son was pushing it but being attracted to the guy he was supposed to work with day after day? Horrible.

Eric stood with a sigh. "I think we both need to get back to work." He turned to go without waiting for Wes' answer but when Wes grabbed his wrist, he paused. The lean fingers were strong and hot. He ignored the tightening of his stomach, realizing that lust was going to have to take a backseat to his job.

"Melt a little, Eric. You'll still have plenty of ice left."

Eric stared at him; his face revealing none of his feelings at Wes's comment and Wes just smiled. Whether Eric knew it or not, Wes was going to get him to open up. Maybe not today but sometime. He let go of Eric's wrist with a sigh.

Eric turned and left without another word though he heard Wes call out something. Melt a little; the thought left him dazed. He knew the kind of melting he wanted to do but it wasn't going to do him any good. Wes would never see him the way he needed him to. It wasn't even worth the speculation.
