The Firestar

The Firestar, gone tonight,

is back again, burning bright.

How was the silence, what was it like?

Did you regret it, did you still fight?

Was life worth it, do you really care?

Does it matter, do I dare ask you, Firestar?

Would you mind if I did?

Would you try, to tell me why?

Now that you're back again, now that your here

Tell me you love me and hold me so dear.

Firestar, daring in the face of night

Shine bright, watch in silent light.

Throw the shadow to its knees

Bend its will, Break its ease.

The cold and white, defies the light.

The silence grows, but the light still shows.

Nothing is sacred in its glare,

It is that which induces, that which ensnares.

Nothing is so precious as the Fire to a star,

As the song to a bird, the page, to a word.

Nothing has preference over the light.

Nothing can contend, nothing can fight.

It always wins out. It always tries.

No matter how high climb the skies.

It will always reach the top now.

No death to snuff it out.

So, tell me, what do you know?

How does it feel, to be so alone, Firestar?

Does it hurt?

And what of mirth?

Do you wonder?

Do you see?

What will come?

And what will be?

For up above, so high in the sky,

You see so much, and know no lies.

Dance once more, shine forebright.

Tell us stories, through your firelight.

Make us cry, Make us shout.

Make us try without doubt.

To see the flames so bright and tall.

Dance and jump, leap and stall.

At your command they dance again.

Forever flaring for their firelit friend.

The flames entrancer.

The Firedancer.

The flames commander.

He sends us Firedreams,

From among the gleams in his eyes,

Refectant by fire,

Drowned in the light.

Silence endearing,

Whispering, nearing.

Our hearing, so keen as to skip over it,

Gleaning nothing from knowledge incarnate.

Submitting us all to be garment in ignorance,

For none hear the whispers of the firewords attentions.

None hear the return of the one who ne'er burns.

None know that the light has come back to the night.

He's the Firelight, the Firelit.

He's the Firedancer, the Fireprancer.
