"Huey, read to me peas?" Little Louie asked his brother.

Huey looked up from his book to meet his little brother's (by not even an hour) eyes.

They were sparkling and wide for once as Louie awaited an answer.

Huey was sitting with his knees to his chest reading under his reading lamp.

Louie's hands were on Huey's knees and he was leaning over while standing on his tip toes.

"What do you want me to read, Lou? Don't you normally just like watch'n rather than hear'n?" Huey asked.

"I wanna to listen to you voice. You do all the fun character voices for everyone. Dewey can't read; I woulda gone to him since I know you is busy." Louie looked away.

"I has time. Come here, Lou. Do ya has a book you would want me ta read?" Huey offered again.

Louie sat down beside Huey and leaned over his shoulder to look at his other book.

"What the book you were reading? Do you wanna read me that?" Louie picked up Huey's book and looked over the cover.

"You probably won't like it. It called 'Manners Matter' and it teach'n ya bout be'n polite." Huey explained.

Huey had a slight problem with his temper, but nothing super drastic.

Donald has decided to get Huey this book since he was so smart and reads very well even at such a ridiculously young age.

"No thank you. I don't even know what ply means." Louie simply replied.

"It's polite, Lou. It means having or showing behavior that is respectful or considerate to other people." Huey laughed.

Louie blinked a couple times before making a confused gesture.

"Sweet, little brother." Huey once again laughed, this time hugging a confused Louie.

"You has to be REALLY smart cuz I don't know a word a what ya saying." Louie hugged him back.

"Tanks, Lou Lou. Go get me a book and I read." Huey told him.

Louie nodded and went a few steps over to the colorful, kiddie bookshelf to search for a book.

"Here!" Louie came back and handed Huey a book before sitting close to him again like before.

Huey looked down at the book and then gave Louie a blank stare.

"Really? 'Round the house?" Huey sighed.

"Yay! I bet I knows ev'ry house thing they is gonna say!" Louie clapped.

"You memorized it! That's cheat'n." Huey crosses his arms.

"Read! Read! Read!" Louie chanted.

"Fine. 'Round the house. In the kitchen, we find our food. What else can we find?" Huey recited.

"Ooh! I knows! It sink, fridge, oven, mic-y-waves, and hot, hot stove!" Louie listed.

"Exactly right. The dinning room's where we eat our food. What can we find in a dinning room?" Huey read.

"Ooh! Chairs, tab-l, tab-l cloth, and centaur piece!" Louie said adorably even though he didn't mean to.

Huey laughed and nodded again.

Huey continued to read and Louie continued to recite the exact items in the exact order.

Huey has lost count of how many times he sat in that same spot reading to Louie. If he wasn't there, they were both in the big rocker that could fit all the triplets and an adult with enough room for them to sit how they wanted.

So many times little Louie would fall asleep curled up next to Huey in the rocker.

Huey would always turn the lamp off, put a blanket over them, and join him in sleep.

Huey always read the same book unless he had already had a book ready that was much more challenging.

Louie would be patient with Huey the whole time as he tried to sound out the words.

Dewey was never patient and he got bored easily.

He didn't speak much either; He mainly just screamed and yelled random words at times.

Huey and Louie desperately wished Dewey would grow out of this.

Dewey was loud and rambunctious for sure, but he was nothing but sweet when it was needed.

The family decided not to worry about Dewey because of that.

He knew right from wrong (mostly) so he'd eventually talk as well as the other two.

Huey finally finished this one reading session with Louie and Louie decided he didn't want to leave.

"Huey, peas read another." Louie begged.

"We been read'n for a whole hour! I needs a break. Sorry, Lou." Huey told him, standing from his reading place to go get some water.

Louie grabbed onto his hand though and pulled him back.

"Don't go!" He whined.

"I just gonna get some water. I not leave'n." Huey assured Louie, helping him up to his feet.

"Can I go too?" Louie asked, grabbing Huey's arm.

Huey didn't reply but instead started walking with Louie still beside him.

Louie kept up and walked along with Huey.

They reached the kitchen and Huey sighed.

"Can't get up there. Wanna help?" Huey asked his little brother.

"Really?! I 'an help you?!" He gasped.

"Course you 'an! Wanna stand on tee chair an I make sure you don't fall?" Huey offered.

"Why I stand'n on tee chair? Why not you?" Louie frowned in fear as he looked at how high the water bottles were.

"I scared." Louie admitted, holding onto his brother.

"It ok. You trust me?" Huey asked him.

It took Louie a second to remember what 'trust' meant, but Huey then whispered explaining it to him.

"Oh! Course!" Louie exclaimed.

"Then you trust me to guide you on tee chair?" Huey pulled a chair up to the fridge so that he could help Louie there.

"Ok." Louie agreed, tired of resisting his brother's request.

Huey held Louie firmly as he climbed onto the chair to grab a water.

Louie looked back down at Huey nervously, but Huey only gave him a reassuring smile.

That was enough for Louie as he got the water bottle and sat down on the chair before sliding off it.

"I did it!" Louie cheered.

Huey grabbed the water bottle and kissed Louie's cheek as a thank you.

Louie grinned and blushed slightly.

He then reached for Huey's hand and grabbed it to pull him to their bedroom.

"What wrong, Lou? We still has a little while 'for we has to go to bed." Huey explained.

"Wanna sleep. I sleepy." Louie yawned to prove his point.

"I should've know. You get clingy when you sleepy." Huey laughed.

Louie didn't care as he leaned on Huey and closing his eyes.

"No sleep'n here! Let go to bed." Huey told him.

Louie would have asked to be carried if he didn't know that Huey couldn't and they were both the same size.

He instead kept clinging to Huey as Huey led them inside the room.

Louie climbed into Huey's bed rather than his and grinned adorably.

"Fine. You can stay." Huey agreed, not feeling like arguing due to becoming tired himself.

"I join you in second. Have to get light away." Huey explained, grabbing Dewey's toy baseball bat to reach the light switch.

"Huey, come here. Want you to be with me." Louie whined, reaching his arms out for Huey.

Huey got the lights off and climbed up to join his brother.

"I love you, Huey." Louie whispered, cuddling close to Huey.

Huey gasped slightly before gently running his hand through Louie's hair.

"I-I love you too."

A/N

Hey y'all! This is definitely one of my shorter chapters, but I'll post another tomorrow cuz it's already ready. I got the 'Around The House' book thing from my sister always wanting to read that book. Even now. I might find it to take a picture of it. Lol. So this is a HueLou story. My OTP is HueDewLou so I decided I'd start off with the most least popular ship between the three. I know some people don't like this ship, but I don't comment unnecessarily whenever y'all write for ships I don't like, so I'd really appreciate it if you would just not read it if you don't like it. And the younger years don't have it. Not at all. Maybe starting on 11 or 12 years old. That's it. Just a warning if y'all wanna read till then. Reviews are very much appreciated. Thanks for reading!
