So this story is part of my "The Contents of Her Purse" series. I realized that you really can tell a lot about a woman from what she keeps in her purse, so I decided to write a series of one-shots around this idea. I am planning on doing non SW characters as well, so if anyone has a request, just text me!
This story takes place between AotC and RotS.
Oh yeah, I don't own Star Wars.
Enjoy!

"Padmé, have you seen my necklace?"
"Which one?"
"The one I wore last night."
"If you wore it last night, shouldn't you know where it is?"
"Well normally I would, but last night got…"
"Crazy?" Padmé finished for her sister.
Sola blushed. "Right, I'll just keep looking then." She tuned and left, Padmé's laughter following her down the hallway.
Padmé leaned back in her chair, glad to be home away from the bustle of Courasant and the Senate. To celebrate her return, Sola had taken her out. But then she had run into some old friends, and Padmé had ended up sitting back and watching her sister and friends get a little crazy. It had been fun, but Padmé was exhausted from being up so late. Which was why she was sitting out on the porch, relaxing in the peace that only Naboo could provide.
"Padmé?"
"Sola, I promise I don't know where you necklace is!"
"I found it."
"Where was it?"
"In your purse. And I also found this."
Padmé turned around and saw her japor snippet dangling from Sola's fingertips.
"It's really pretty; can I borrow it?"
"No!" Padmé strode forward and snatched it from Sola's grasp.
"Gosh Padmé, it's just a necklace." Sola paused as she saw a look flit across her sister's face. "Isn't it?"
Padmé looked at Sola, then at the necklace before tucking it safely in her pocket. "It's special to me."
"Did a suitor give it to you?" Sola wondered.
Padmé shook her head. "A dear friend, who is no longer here, gave it to me." It wasn't a complete lie. Anakin was off in the depths of space fighting in the war; she had no idea where he was. All she knew was that he wasn't here with her.
"Oh Padmé, I'm sorry," Sola said sincerely. "But you know, the people we love never truly leave us; a part of them always stays behind to get us through their absence." She stepped forward and enveloped Padmé in a tight hug, then left her alone.
As soon as Sola was out of sight, Padmé pulled the necklace from her pocket and pressed against her heart. "Please be safe Ani." She glanced down and placed her hands over her stomach. "Come home soon; we need you back."
